Every new season brings a set of fashion trends but also jewellery trends. Findings, bracelets, necklaces, rings, earrings: jewellery is renewed in new styles, shapes, and colours. This year there are many new trends. We have therefore selected the biggest trends of this year.
The oversized trend is taking hold this year in the form of jewellery. Oversized jewellery is large jewellery with large chain links, whether in the form of a bracelet, necklace, or ring. This type of jewellery used to represent a certain idea of luxury. No longer valued for its “vulgarity”, oversized jewellery has gradually reappeared.
Chunky jewellery, whether in sterling silver or gold-plated, has become the centrepiece of a minimalist look and brought modernity to all basics.
Thin gold chains have always been the perfect way to dress our necks. But for some time now, the trend has been towards large links.
Today it has become a must-have. In small or large mesh, it can be worn everywhere, all the time. For even more style, it can be worn in superposition with thinner chains for even more effect.
This trend has been around for a few years now, but every year it comes back with new ideas.
It has become a timeless trend like the classic blazer in the clothing industry. These little charms that are attached around a chain or leather cord have become a must-have. Today, they are a new must-have accessory in the world of jewellery.
We have several choices of customisable jewels:
- The necklace: it is the novelty of the moment; chains which consist of pendants to be accumulated according to one’s desires, but also of fine stones to attract the good energies and which bring comfort.
- The bracelet: it is the same thing as the necklace but worn differently.
- Pendants with astrological signs
In the field of jewellery, stones are one of those exceptional pieces that arouse unparalleled enthusiasm and excitement.
Very trendy several decades ago, precious stones and gemstones are once again in fashion. This is due to the need to “get back to basics”, to nature and natural products which are sought after in all areas.
Gemstones come in a wide variety. They come in all colours, sizes, and qualities.
Countless pieces of jewellery can be created with these wonderful stones. Simply combine the stone with a chain or other findings and you have a new piece of jewellery. Therefore, it is a piece of jewellery that will always be unique and original.
At G-Silver we offer a wide range of so-called fine stones. Each stone has a specific virtue. We invite you to read our article on Stones in jewellery which details the properties of the stones we offer.
More and more companies are favouring short production circuits, using raw materials that respect the planet.
In a CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) approach, G-Silver has decided to take advantage of its expertise in the field of sterling silver by producing jewellery from recycled silver that does not come from mines.
Today, all our products are made with 30% recycled silver, except for the loose chain which are made of 100% recycled silver. We are in the process of obtaining certification from the Responsible Jewellery Council.
We invite you to read our G-Silver Green page which presents all the actions and steps we are taking to contribute to the respect of the environment.
A few years ago, we were told not to mix gold and silver! But this theory has changed, because today it is the opposite, it is the trend. In fact, in 2021, silver and gold jewellery will be mixed. You just must accumulate different metals, gold, and silver, which are intertwined. You can also superimpose a silver piece of jewellery on a gold necklace and that’s it!
The idea is to wear necklaces or bracelets with charms in the shape of keys or a mini handbag, to personalise the necklace as much as possible. The keys can represent the keys to one’s heart, one’s home, etc., and the bag is the feminine element that makes up everything one needs throughout the day. The jewel thus becomes an element of security for the wearer. This trend developed when the big brands declined their favourite bags in the form of charms to be adopted. The idea is to miniaturise their “best-selling” pieces to make them miniature jewellery.
